Taking a villa rather than a hotel changes the entire character of a celebration. What to weigh up before you do.
A villa is not simply a cheaper or larger hotel room. It changes the social shape of a celebration — people drift between rooms, breakfast happens in stages, and the evening has no closing time. For the right group it is transformative. For the wrong one it is stressful.
What a villa gives you
Privacy, first. No other guests, no shared spaces, no closing hours. Then flexibility: a private chef can cook what you actually want at the hour you actually want it, and the schedule can move by two hours without anyone needing to be told. And finally the thing people underestimate — the between-times. Mornings by the pool and late conversations on a terrace are where a group of people who did not know each other become friends.
What to weigh up
Villas do not come with staff on site around the clock, so someone has to manage suppliers, deliveries and setup — that is usually us. Bedroom counts rarely divide neatly across couples, families and single guests, and it is worth mapping who sleeps where early rather than late. And guests staying elsewhere will need transfers, which needs planning.
The combination that works best
Most often, a villa for the immediate family and closest friends, with a good hotel nearby for everyone else. You keep the intimacy where it matters and the logistics stay simple for the rest. It is the arrangement we suggest more than any other.
